So I made this little movie while preparing a presentation for my research class. I just thought it was hilarious. This is my lab professor, Dr. Judd, and one of our lab rats. The movie is blocked by the BYU filter, in case you are having trouble viewing it. Enjoy.

Swearing at Work Boosts Team Spirit

Thanks go to Paul for finding this stunning piece of work.

Regular swearing at work can help boost team spirit among staff, allowing them to express better their feelings as well as develop social relationships, according to a study by researchers Yehuda Baruch, a professor of management at the University of East Anglia, and graduate Stuart Jenkins.

The pair said swearing in front of senior staff or customers should be seriously discouraged or banned, but in other circumstances it helped foster solidarity among employees and express frustration, stress or other feelings.

"Managers need to understand how their staff feel about swearing. The challenge is to master the 'art' of knowing when to turn a blind eye to communication that does not meet their own standards."

Product of the Month

Introducing Toilet Tunes.
You put a wireless sensor on the inside of your toilet lid (weird) and then when someone lifts the lid, a discretely placed speaker nearby begins playing music (weirder). The idea is that with the music playing no one will be able to hear anything noisy that may be happening in the bathroom. Interesting…

But as I always say, a bathroom is just so incomplete without a fan in it. What an ingenious, dual-purpose marvel. Not only quick to soften unmentionable aromas, but also useful to make a bit of noise so that you don't have to. But there is a delicate balance of bathroom fan clamor, because a noisy fan will wake up others in the middle of the night, and there's no use drawing unnecessary attention to yourself at such moments. However, the fan must also be loud enough during the day to... well... do what it is supposed to.

Point is, a properly tuned bathroom fan is just about the most useful gift mankind has ever seen. For those of you that disagree, well then Toilet Tunes is probably right for you.
